This is a luxurious resort with exceptional rooms. The staff members are always available to assist you and remain constantly pleasant. The beaches, particularly the Royal Zanzibar Beach Resort, are exceptionally beautiful. I extend my gratitude for the excellent time we had at ROYAL ZANZIBAR BEACH RESORT.

Considering this is an island and supply is limited and complex, i believe they had great maintenance in the rooms. Rooms were high standard.The service was amazing. Omar, Suleiman all guys were so helpful and willing to make you comfortable.I liked the idea of exclusion of some expensive alcohols and dishes such as lobsters.When we provide feedback to Chef, he did his best to rectify small improvement areas. The hotel was nice with a wonderful spa. To me that was the best feature of the hotel. The grounds are beautifully maintained and the staff are friendly. My room was good with no issues. Beware the water is salty so you need to use bottled water.The food is great with lots of choices.I won’t lie the service for drinks is quite slow and they often forgot your order. I sort of felt like they weren’t prepared for larger groups. We were a party of 10. On the beach they are selling stuff like bracelets. They overcharge you for EVERYTHING!!! They prefer dollar but try to pay in their shilling.I did have a great experience and I would probably go back again.

To our surprise we had an amazing time in this hotel. We got an upgraded room with ocean view due to our honeymoon , thanks to manager Mr. Mohammed, he was very helpful and professional.Ocean and beach are beautiful and much cleaner than in other parts of the island.Food was really good and every day new menu. You can also choose from which restaurant you want to eat. We stayed in other hotels in Zanzibar, and we have what to compare with.All staff is very friendly and welcoming.Also they have evening activities and show.Negatives - bad mattress on the bed, very old. Also when you call to reception to ask for something, it will take long time till they will do it (housekeeping or bring smth) and you have to call few times.In overall we had a very pleasant stay 😊

Disappointing and too expensive for the quality. We were booked for a sea view room but were told it was under maintenance. They offered to downgrade our room. When we would not give in and asked for a refund, they miraculously found us the sea view room after more than 2 hours of fighting. By the time we checked in it was around 5:30 pm, lunch was unavailable and we had no time for the beach. Manager is a complete joke. Offered us spa vouchers as compensation but revoked his promise and later said we cannot use the vouchers on the same day of receipt. He didn’t even have the courtesy to offer compensatory lunch or even a fruit basket to the room (mind you we were booked on an all inclusive deal). He said if we were to order room service, they were to charge us extra money. Food is mediocre and so is service. I don’t advise this hotel to anyone
